Hey Reader,
Let's bust the myth on a question I get asked a lot: Is having a website essential to use Pinterest?
The short answer is no. You don't need a website or an online store in order to get the most out of Pinterest. However, if you do have one, it can definitely help you maximize your efforts on the platform and leverage it as part of your overall marketing strategy.
All you actually need though is a URL. You can create a Pinterest profile and link to your blog, social media accounts, email list signup page or even an online video. As long as you have something you'd like to promote, you can use it on Pinterest!
When adding links to Pinterest, make sure they are leading to pages that include relevant content and images related to what you're promoting. This will help ensure that your audience finds what they’re looking for when they click on the link and make it easier to create a strong Pinterest presence.
If you don’t have a website, one of the most important things you can do is to have a solid marketing plan to make the most out of Pinterest.
Think about where your conversations with potential customers are happening and use Pinterest to drive traffic to those platforms. Also consider creating a funnel using an email marketing platform like ConvertKit, using Messenger bots to offer something in exchange for information, or promoting affiliate sales.
Whatever your strategy, remember that consistency is key on Pinterest, so make sure to post regularly and use keywords in your descriptions!
